Migraine Pain Prevention

If you suffer from migraine headaches, we offer two options of treatment:

1. Stabilization splints

Stabilization splints look and feel similar to mouthguards and are typically worn in the mouth while a person is asleep. They are appropriate for patients who suffer from migraines as well as those who may be experiencing tooth wear or jaw muscle pain. Stabilization splints can prevent and reduce the intensity of jaw clenching while you sleep and as a result of this, can minimize headaches.

2. Botox treatment

In addition to stabilization splints, we are also certified in Botox treatment used to help treat chronic migraines. This form of treatment requires Botox to be injected around pain fibers that are involved in headaches. Upon injection, Botox enters nerve endings and helps blocks pain transmission around the injection site. As a result, this prevents the "feeling of pain" to the brain and effectively, reduces the frequency and intensity of migraines.
